Anyone in Parker or near who wants babies, the Parker Feed store has about a dozen they can't find homes for. There are Production Red's, White Leyhorns, Golden Laced Wyandottes, about 2 weeks old.
I'm not near but may be able to run up there if they haven't gotten them placed yet. Where is the store?

I just called and they still have them.
Judi,If someone is near enough the Leghorns are a pretty decent deal at $4.40 for chicks hatched on the 14th of May, ditto for the Del x NH, and she had some GLW and production Reds a week younger for the same price. She definitely wants to sell but didn't sound at all interested in negotiating.
I don't need more chicks right now anyway, I've been moving what I have around and am pretty happy with the present situation ... until some of the youngest chicks start getting biggerI moved some Silkies I was going to sell out to the coop chick pen, I decided I'd like to grow them out - they are all very light-downed, one has pale stripes so probably a light partridge, and several I'm thinking may be self-blue/lavender, so they can stay while I see how they turn out. I still have some for sale, just decided to hang onto this group of 7 to see what happens as they feather out.![]()
I put 6 RIR pullets into the main coop last night after dark, stood ready to assist this morning after I opened the pop door, finally had to reach in and take them out. A few pecks and thing ssettled right down, probably because there are 6 of them and not just 1 or 2. When I left for work all were just doing their chicken thing. I had scattered scratch and apple pieces liberally, and they were still working on them. Whew.
I don't think I mentioned this here yet - I have an Ameraucana pullet hatched January 20th from a Hardin Poultry (now Heirloom Orpingtons) egg, who laid her first egg last Saturday at the age of 19 weeks and 6 days. Laid again yesterday. I am thrilled. After she settles into laying well she'll go in with the pair I bought from Doc earlier this year, she's a very nice black with beautiful green sheen.
I finally get to join the chick train instead of reading about them...., my psycho broody hatched out 3 babies (Mountain Mutts) and I got to clean out her nest and give them chick feed and a proper sized waterer and NOT pull back a bloody stump as evidenced by my typing this.![]()
