Colorado

Love all the Colorado folks in here! My Family and I live in the Springs and are setting up our first coop! It's my scrap-tastic coop as I'm building it out of scrap wood I have and a little bit of free stuff from craigslist. We are planning on doing 4 hens. Any suggestions on a breed for colorado? Looking for a lot of eggs.

we have wyandottes, they do really well and lay eggs nicely. our Easter Egger gives us a bluish egg every day or every other day

new chicken little! We have black australorp (dual purpose but they lay great too) and easter eggers. We get between 7-10 eggs a day, and even got 3-5 a day during the winter.

Ask any questions! Colorado chicken folk are very friendly, knowledgeable and fun.

ETA: We have 10 laying hens, 2 roosters, and lots and lots of babies!

I was just going through my seeds, and I have WAY too many! Some are expired but I've never had a problem with old seeds germinating (except corn) .. at least 50-60% germination rate.

So ... anybody want to come get some seeds? Cauliflower, broccoli, peppers, beets, onion, greens, okra, melons, sorghum, eggplant, pea, cuke, squash, and much more. Free but donation would be nice!

E-Mail (my pm is almost full). I'm about an hour SE of Denver, and about hour+half NE of Colo Springs.

I didn't see a seed swap for this year. Anybody see the link to it (I think I'm going blind from looking at seeds for the last 4 hours ... and then organizing the ones I'm using this year PLUS repotting some seedlings I've already started).

Thanks.
