Colorado

Now reporting homes have been lost in both Mountain Shadows and the Flying W Ranch Area. They are saying that the flames have been moving at the rate of about 2,000 feet an hour. They have requested that people stay OFF their cell phones in order to keep the bandwidth (?) open for emergencies.

Minchi, I'm not sure how smokey it is at Highlands Ranch. The smoke certainly isn't good, but it's almost dark. They will be going inside soon anyway. I don't have any options, as it would be just as smokey inside my house as it is outside. Right now the smoke isn't blowing my way that I can tell.

keep the commentary going! i don't always get a chance to check update.

we just had to turn our swamp cooler off due to the smoke from the boulder fire blowing in. Its too hot for my kids to sleep and its too smokey for them to be out. When is this state going to get a break?!?!

With all the smoke in the air is there any concern about the chickens? Would it be best to keep them inside when it is smokey out?
i've been wondering this for awhile. I can't really bring mine in though. Our garage gets HOT, the basement doesn't have a safe place, the upstairs isn't possible due to allergies....

this weather, smoke, fires.....something has got to give soon!
