I'm not sure.  Sometimes she won't answer a number if she doesn't know it.   PM me off list and I'll see if it's the right number.

I'm having a hard time with the cullng  of my roo but someone once told me that you don't get into chickens unless you are willing and able to do the hard stuff.  Sadly roosters are just too plentiful and too many of certain breeds causes harm to the hens and fighting among themselves.   It's hard though.

Wish i could send you a hug. Remember that a part of him will live on. And, if you decided you want his son, you can pick one up in about three months. Odds are at least one of the eggs you gave me has a bouncing clucky boy in it. :).

Let's do it! I have a Llama 9mm I haven't shot yet and I can make pie!

Almost any Saturday!

We're in the middle of Legion Baseball State Play-Offs...so this weekend and next will be a bit busy for me. Let me know what works best for you and I'll coordinate my schedule from there. My summer research at UNC is winding down; that will free up a good chunk of time as well.

This is going to be a lot of fun. Great idea there wsmith.

We can host as many as we want and want to come out!. The range we built can easily accomodate up to 10 shooters at a time, and we have a bench for two shooters. We can have the BBQ at the house, (and as Mayah and Sharon can attest,) has a "large" fenced back yard, though it has lots of weeds at the moment. we have 7 acres, but only about 3/4 acres has a 6 ft wood fence.

Got to get to those weeds. Too many chicken projects taking precedence.

A day at the range followed by good food always go well together.

If you have a grill, I can bring down some slab ribs & cook them Louisiana Style....YUM.

I have 6 of his babies being brooded right now and suspect 2 are roos as they are doing that chest butt thing already. I just wish he could have gotten along with others and was a little gentler on the girls. The part of me that is methodical understands that when I go into a store and have chicken, it is often from chickens that have been kept in small cages without much of a life. But not so the sentimental part.

Anyone who wants to understand what it must be like to be Gd only has to raise chickens and have a loving heart. Watching chicks hatch and not being able to interfere, knowing if you did, you might kill the chick. Trying hard to put in safeguards but knowing that at any moment, they can fly the coop and be eaten by a predator. Having to cull. Perhaps if more people had animals, they'd believe a little more.

ramble off.
