Uggg. Just found out DH's car needs $700 in repairs. It has turned into such a money pit we are trying to just sell it to the dealer. After several calls back and forth, the guy I was talking to gave us a verbal offer from his boss. But then five minutes later he calls back saying his manager needs to test drive it (seriously? Their people just inspected it for the engine problem and have had it since 9am) and that they can't do the sale tonight because they are busy selling. And that since their finance office is closed on weekends DH wil have to come in during work(mornings/early afternoon only apparently) to make the sale.

So frustrated! Maybe we should just make the repairs and take it somewhere else to sell. Or for sale by owner. Grrrrrr.

Okay you guys tell me what you think...it has been over two weeks since I tried to get her sexed last time.

Well from my three months of experience owning chickens, green sheen does not mean rooster. The saddle feathers will tell you more, my boys' showed up at 10 weeks. It looks like your SLW has a single comb, is that right? I have a BLW with a rose comb and she has a deeper pink than the other girls. I would post on What Breed or Gender, they helped me with my 5 boys.
(Saddle feathers coming in near the tail, they are a deeper color and pointed)

I would definitely say girl. She looks just like my girlie SLWs at that age. Their combs started peeking out a long time before anyone elses and they were slightly earlier layers than everyone else. The other girls started at 22 weeks, these ones started about 20.

This is Spock and Kirk (both are girls) at 11 weeks.

This is the best full body shot I could find at that time.

Thanks Bro!

I will be adding a couple more verticle pieces (bracing?) to the end trusses to better accomodate the sheathing. This afternoon I will do that and measure out/mark their locations so that starting at about 8 AM Saturday, we will begin installation. After that, all that remains is the roof sheathing and roof finish (tar paper, shingles, etc), the egg door, trim, and paint. As soon as the roof sheathing is up technically I can put chickens in it.
