a possibility
Pasted from denverurbanhomesteading.com:
The next chicken swaps will be JANUARY 5, 2013 and FEBRUARY 2, 2013 from 10-12 Noon at Earthdog Denver, 370 Kalamath Street, Denver.
I saw this on facebook somewhere. Has anyone ever been to it? Wonder if many people show up with chickens to swap or buy???

OH today is 25 degrees! I went out and cleaned my coop and let my girls out. They are soo happy to run and stretch. Yesterday they were locked in and not happy with me. Today I found 5 eggs which was a surprise. I have 3 layers, and 4 girls who should be starting soon. SO I guess 2 have started :)

I'm using more scrap wood to build it. I love scrap piles!
Looking forward to seeing it once you have it completed! Been meaning to ask who painted your Doms on your ranch sign???

I've been to the swap several times & really enjoy it. It really is a place for the backyard poultry person! Birds are handled respectively. A number of breeders bring stock of various qualities. Most of the stock was of the utilitarian layer breeds but sometimes others. Also saw goats, ducks and rabbits. Funny, its right next to a dog boarding facility (the facility owners own the lot where the swap is held). Its neat to go further south on Kalamuth to the Denver Urban Homesteading building where other vendors have everything from local honey to baked goods to local meat to produce.
Another event coming up for poultry enthusiasts is the National Western Stock Show. The poultry show is Jan 20 &21, where you can connect with breeders or find info.

Hi Shylee, Thanks, will think on checking it out. Nice that the animals are handled well, I often wondered if this is true at the sale barns that have tack and small animal sales. Yes, hoping I can make the Ntl Western Stock Show this year, I have tried years before, but never succeeded in getting there. Had some neighbors that bought several paint AQHA horses from the stock show, very nice animals! Which would be the better day for poultry? The 20th or 21st?

Little Man is doing well, btw, he likes his girls, and even though he is half their size, shows them who is boss! lol
