I'm thinking I should probably set up an official website soon for Windy Ridge Dominiques.
You defiantly should! The only two breeders/local chicken hatchers that I have contacted have had websites.

Setting up a web site is fairly easy. If you don;t want many pages on your site, there are free sites out there, just Yahoo free web site builder. Look around, you may find one you like. Most important is to buy your domain name, we bought ours at GoDaddy, it cost $12 a year to "own". When you buy your GoDaddy domain name, you get a free webiste with it, I have never been able to figure out how many pages come with that deal. We have kept our Microsoft Office 360 account, it is around $65 a year, but is very easy to use their template, and we currently have 16 - 19 pages for our horse farm. You can use the GoDaddy with any website hosting company you choose, you just edit it into your account. Also, if you buy say Windy Ridge Dominiques.net or .org it will be cheaper that the .com.I'm thinking I should probably set up an official website soon for Windy Ridge Dominiques.
Welcome to the Colorado Thread. There are usually a couple of folks who have an extra hen or two.... I don't have any extra right now though. You seem like a knowledgable CO resource, and I'm not bright enough to figure out where to post this as an original thread, so apologies for the randomness. I'm in Parker, CO, and we only have 2 chickens in our little residential backyard. Well, one chicken now. A friend's dog was staying with us, and opened the latch (!!?!) and ate one of our girls. I didn't think it was possible, as we only have a golden retriever, and he loves the chickens. Anyway, they're new chickens from this year, just started laying a month ago, and I'm heartbroken. I know I need to get a replacement for our lone girl now. She's so friendly and sweet (black australorp), and I need another young female who will be nice to her and be friendly to the toddler and pup. Any ideas one who maybe got too many and would be willing to give their extra to a good, organic home with a backyard to play in? Or someone who could loan us a sweet little layer for a few months until we can get a pair of chicks in the spring? I'm rushing to find someone so Yennie the Hennie doesn't get lonely

Thank you!!
LOL. I'll have to look into it this weekend while I am at home. It's easy to brouse and keep up with the message boards while at work, you just check them peridically, and it doesn't take much time; but sites like godaddy are blocked on the work server.Setting up a web site is fairly easy.
