I wet my chicken/duck feed if that helps uzi :)

I have too many chickens. There is no getting around it. If you can come get them before 5pm tomorrow uzi, I can part with a pair.

The broody mamas (white bresse and clean faced easter egger)chased all the littles out of the chicken condo /pen. It's pretty funny. But now they are just wandering all around the back and side yards.

I need to sell some chicks /chickens and ducklings and some buff and rouen ducks. I'm going out of town tomorrow night for the weekend, so I'm missing the chicken swaps. :( my friend is staying with us and going to be house/critter sitting for us.
 
Wow! So much going on. I just finished 8 days of posts, trying to catch up. My sympathies, congratulations, kudos, and gratitude to all of you who post and respond so faithfully. My three new girls are doing very well, and everyone seems to be happy. I'll post pictures when I can.

It's high season in the B&B, and for as small as it is, things have been wildly busy. I love it, but I finally have a group of guests who are easy-going and long-term, and I finally slept well with nothing to scramble to get done first thing this morning. Except to catch up on your posts!

There is another set of swaps scheduled in July. I know it is a long way off but an option if you can hold out that long.
I love all the littles but I too have to many. (5 broodies at this time too.) Not hatching anything under them so there they sit doggedly.

That is the oddest thing for the little one to be so determined to pick at its feet. I wish I could come up with an answer for you.

We just got hammered again today with heavy rain. The chickens are always glad to have the bugs it brings but I am rather wishing for less mud. The feather footed ones are doing very well at keeping their feet feathers mud free so that helps. Got my fingers crossed for Saturday morning to be dry enough to go to the swap with my now rather large birds. A month ago I could have put them in large carriers inside the cab of the truck but now that would be to crowded. They are going to have to ride in the bigger cages I built in the back. I think I can put blankets on the cages to keep the wind off them. I will for sure be strapping them down. Kinda wish the truck had a topper at this point.

two chicks and a turkey. others look more filled in with feathers. plus they stick out and not so much sagging.

I have quite an interest in this now since the beloved chicken named Grandma has odd wings. GREAT. She has started to develop a slight cross beak as well as having the odd wings. She is not going to the swap this weekend so when things get calmed down around here a bit I will be taking as many pics as she will permit. LOL may get 3 or 4 of her. VERY skittish bird is an understatement with her.

What I was reading about the split wing is to let the chick feather out fully and reassess the situation.
