Colorado

Anyone know when the wind should let up? I looked at KKTV and KRDO tv and couldn't find anything. Maybe noon news will tell something.

None of my girls want to go out of the run into the yard. The run is protected from wind, the yard is...well, it's a yard. Not very protected. The rabbits don't want into the yard either. The dogs are chasing every single leaf that blows into their yard.

Holly! It is the Eclectic (sp) Parrot!! Flat out the sweetest little bird ever and gorgeous!

Okay Ed Green from channel 4 said high winds starting this afternoon around here and that was at 7:30 this morning and our house was already a rockin...

Channel 9, at noon, said the winds are supposed to be here into the night tonight.. and then... maybe.... rain/snow for tomorrow! We can only hope for the moisture... my son says it's getting to look like desert out here. He's right.

Glad I can't afford to drive anywhere or I'd be headed out for chicks. I'm hoping for a broody this spring to give me some new babies.

If anyone near the Springs needs eggs (because their chickens aren't old enough yet or their layers are on strike) check craigs list. I saw a couple of postings.

This wind is the worst, I agree! I am on the east side of Black Forest, just about five miles north of Falcon.

I have been raising chickens for the past five years and am totally obsessed! I have a variety of chickens in my barn and then am trying to focus on my marans (cuckoo and black copper) this year along with my aracaunas. I do it all because I love the variety of personalities my chickens have (especially my adorable Dutch bantams) and because I love giving a beautiful carton of eggs to my friends.

Also, I have shown horses actively, dogs for a while, and have not met such nice people as I have in the chicken people! It's a pleasure to be part of the crowd!

Hi Missy! What kind of eggs do you have in your incubator? I am so glad you got one!

Every time my BC marans hen lays an egg, it goes in the bator. I have had one hatch so far, but it died right away. I have done well with the cuckoo marans, two have hatched, two are pipping right now, and my naked neck bantam rooster has been a busy boy. He has gotten to my aracauna hens and now I have bantam naked neck aracauna babies. Cutest things ever.

Jennifer (COChickens) has silkies and Americauans in her big incubator for me too! I can't wait to get my hands on those silkie babies!

I have 8 marans and marans x americaunas from Jennifer, I think. I'd have to see her screen name to be sure. She was great! I like her bunches. Colorado Chicken people rock.

and I have some of Teach97's quail eggs too. 40 of em!! DH will strangle me if I have a 100% hatch rate!

If you need more, let me know, I have some 15 week silkies that could use a home!! Dunno the genders though.
