The 19th is the "Due date" If they don't hatch I'd definitely like to meet up with you somewhere around that time. I am wondering if the quail eggs will be ok, because they were further from the heat element.

We only had maybe an inch of snow here this morning

but my chickens still didn't want to come out of the coop. So, I grabbed some Scratch and threw it out while calling to them.... you should have seen the mass rush to get outside onto that snow to get that candy!

There's also a guy on Craigslist who's in NE Parker and has a RIR roo (as well as several other birds) for sale. I've seen this roo and he's gorgeous for a hatchery bird. Huge boy with stunning dark red coloring.

Anyone else have any damage from the winds this week? I only had a fence blow down, plenty damage enough for me!! I htought It was gonna blow the feathers right off my girls! they didn't want to stay outside long that's for sure. Today though, they were happy to be in the sunny spots in their yard.

My roof on the duck pen got rearranged.

I checked in with the Fountain Farmer's Market people. They did not think there would be an issue with a poultry swap. The lady in charge is going to check to make sure. A booth is only $10. Anyone wanting to sell poultry could chip in on the booth price and I even have a 10x10 pop-up tent. As soon as I find out the start date, I will post here and we can try and pick a day for a swap. Notices can be posted on craigslist to build some traffic...both Colorado Springs and Pueblo farm sections.

There is a slight issue with eggs though. They have to be fertile hatching eggs, not "eating" eggs. It has something to do with the farmer's market association they belong to. Only certified eggs can be sold for food. Of course, people can take them home and fry them up or shove them up their nose for all I care, just make sure any eggs sold are fertile.

On a side note, someone has baby khaki ducks for sale in the Springs farm section of craigslist.

Oh, the wind was awful wasnt it? But I diddnt have any real damage. Unless clothes blowing off the line and accross the ditch counts.
