Hello fellow Colorado people!

I am just about to jump over the edge and try to raise some quail! Do any of you know what the law in Colorado is about permits etc....for quail. I have searched the D.O.W. site and a lot of others and can't find anything. I am wanting to know if you have to have a permit for Bobwhites or Scaled or Gambel quail if you are just keeping them as pets??? Any help appreciated.

Edited to add: I know this is a hush hush subject it seems, but feel free to PM me if you have any info. I really do want to follow the law, I just can't find out what it is.

What I was told when I started was, without a wildlife park license you can only own 25 Gambel's, scaled, or bobwhite quail. You cannot sell those or anything without a license. The regulations really only talk about them for release for hunting.

You can own other breeds of quail without limit or license, it's the native ones above that have regulation.

Thanks all! I really need some coturnix eggs now so I can join in on the New Years Eve hatch contest

I have PM'd a few on the quail boards, but haven't got a response yet. Anyone close by have any hatching eggs available right away????
