If anyone has room in their heart (and coop) for a Splash Bantam Cochin roo, he is free to a good home. I lost his mate a couple of months ago, so I'd really like to find him a new home. He's going on 2 years old now, and I really haven't had any agression issues with him. I just don't have the space to keep any birds that I'm not using in my breedings. He's just pet quality - there are pics of him on My Pages.

Aight, I need to ask

Does anyone in colorado (preferably within an hour driving distance of us) have any button quail? preferably rather young, as ours just hatched sunday and is an only child

I'd either like to pick up a couple to bring home, or bring this little guy/gal to you

Oh no! Only one hatched??? What a pain. I had that happen to a duck. Took me over a week to find her a buddy. In the mean time get a little mirror you can attach to the side of the brooder and also put something soft and fuzzy in there it can snuggle against. I have used stuffed animals, but for a button quail I think a feathered cat toy would work better. These two things will keep the quail from driving you nuts and peeping its head off. The mirror gives it a "buddy" and the feather toy gives it a babysitter.

Yeah, Linda only one survived

But, its the most active little bird I've ever seen! I've named it Zippy

And, I know everyone says not to, but I've put the baby chicks in with the baby quail, so we'll see what happens. To be honest, we don't have alot of options at this point, and I'm interested to see what will happen if I add the same prebiotic and kelp to the feed that we do with everyone else

Is anybody interested in some young chickens?

I have eggs in the incubator and I also have quite a few other chickens, so I must part with a few.

Bantams:

2 Buff Silkies - pretty sure both are cockerels - Both are filling in nicely and feathering out since the pictures!
1 silver penciled Cochin cockeral - Scamp, total ham!
1 gold laced cochin pullet
1 dark cornish
1 white laced red cornish

I will try and get some current pictures of these up.

I also have 20 assorted 2-week-old pullets - perfect if you only want a few and do not want to ship baby chicks in the winter.

I will be in Colorado Springs this Saturday.

I am asking $5 each IF you can afford it, but I will gladly GIVE them to BYC members or 4-H kids.

These ARE all hatchery birds, but all are in excellent health and taken very good care of from the day I got them. They are NOT overcrowded or uncomfortable in any way, I just do not want things to get that way!
