Does anyone out there have experience with extremely slow feathering Brahmas? S/he is 3 weeks old and only has the primary feathers and the beginnings of tail feathers (still in the 'spike' phase of feather formation on the tail). Even the two week olds are leaps and bounds ahead of Tiny. She's still huge compared to the others but she's still a fluffy puff!

I just drove through Salida today and stopped and looked at the chicks at the Murdoch's.

Y'all Salidans are SO lucky to have a Murdoch's!

If those chicks are still there tomorrow afternoon when I pass back through, I am going to buy me some!

We decided to not drive up to Brighton for the 10-for-2 sale ... it would have cost us practically the same amount in gas as to just buy the meat-bird-chicks so.... we're fine. We've got 20 black australorp chicks coming in 2 weeks anyway.

Did sell Warf the rooster. The people talked about their beautiful "model" show chickens but couldn't tell me the breed! And they brought this tiny box for him even tho my ad said he was a huge rooster.

Anyway, he's gone. This was AFTER we made 2 chicken saddles. Poor girls were practically as naked on their backs and wings as a "whole chicken" in the grocery store!

Now we've rearranged everyone so now I have only 2 coops to wate and feed and check for eggs. Perfect!
