Colorado

Ok I am in Colorado Springs and I have a rooster, (Easter Egger). I am trying to get Rock Ledge Ranch to take him, however if they don't want him. Is there anyone that would want a 8 week old rooster. He is already crowing. He is a very good looking bird would be great for breeding. ....And my wife insist that no one eats him.

Hey folks -

Got me some rooster questions. My single roo has turned into 2, possibly 3! I barely talked my husband into 1! Not finding any homes, he's really a nice guy, don't think he should be stew. Any ideas?

Which also takes my girls down to just 5. Sigh. I'm sure this is a super common occurrence, but it's my first time. Called the guy I got these "ladies" from, of course he has now moved out of state. Can I add new, younger girls to these that I've had since spring? If so, where could I find them? Anyone need a rooster in the Durango area?

I'd appreciate the input. Thanks

Welcome to CO. Not sure where Conrad is but Greeley/ Eaton is wide open and rolling country for the most part. One of my sons travels up to the OW Ranch in MT. He loves it up there!

So you are saying its a great place for chickens! LOL I am so glad you said that. That is what our area looks like too. I have never heard of the OW Ranch. Where is it located? Conrad is an hur from Great Falls, about 3 from Missoula.

Oh thank you sooo much! I must say I am a bit nervous. Never thought we would be starting over at (almost ) 41. But CO certianley sounds like a wonderful place to live. MT is pretty and friendly but job oppurtunities are not the best.

It is out NE of Sheridan,WY about 3 hrs. Greeley is cattle country, the finishing off of the MT calves, hence the smell. LOL My house smells like pickles!

Welcome!

Welcome...and start getting used to the smell...

Thank you! As far as the smell goes, we live in the middle of the oil field now, so rotten eggs is the aroma in the air! LOL Sounds like I will be giving up one wonderful scent for another
