Colorado

I put mine out in a protected area, protected both from other chickens and from the elements if they needed it and left them there for a few days. When released they simply 'got along.' I had to stuff them into the coop after dark as they would sleep outside on the ground but only had to do that twice before they understood that the coop was the new home. They still get chase now and then but nothing serious. Sorry yours are getting pestered! It's never easy introducing new chickens.

I want to get a good start on my run this weekend and they are calling for rain Friday and Saturday....

I just told the manager at the Highlands Ranch Home Depot that they need to start carrying Coops. I think if we all pester them maybe we can get them to sell chicken stuff too.

I am thinking of ordering some Freedom Ranger Chickens straight run meat chickens and wanted to see if anyone wanted in on some. If you are interested let me know. I was thinking of getting some around the beginning of June. I am around Colorado Springs.

We just got a new coop in the Big R store in Elizabeth, really nice, heavy duty not those thin ones. It is a bit pricey but resembles the Amish coops. It was made locally, it is insulated, two really cute windows, it is very heavy. Nesting boxes ramp nice doors to get in to clean and locks on the openings. The walls are a minimum of one inch thick, and painted. You can also order one in your own colors. Why do I know this? I work there, it is not like the less expensive ones we carry.

Just sharing my excitement...my pullets are arriving today in Kiowa! I think Minchi's are in today too, if I remember correctly. Brooder is ready to go, I am ready for my first Mother's Day as Mama Hen.
