We can host as many as we want and want to come out!. The range we built can easily accomodate up to 10 shooters at a time, and we have a bench for two shooters. We can have the BBQ at the house, (and as Mayah and Sharon can attest,) has a "large" fenced back yard, though it has lots of weeds at the moment. we have 7 acres, but only about 3/4 acres has a 6 ft wood fence.

Got to get to those weeds. Too many chicken projects taking precedence.

I haven't shot a gun since I was 12 at summer camp. I'd be keen to come watch. I may not have a gun, but I can cook ; )

When and where exactly is this farmers market? I've been to the two in Loveland and I've NOT been impressed.

I'm a fan of the one in Longmont at the fair grounds. It's been so long since I've been able to go because we live so much further away from it now. I haven't found one on this side of town yet. (Mostly because I'm lazy)

Lets do it! From you it is just over 2 hours to my place. We can do black powder, modern center fires, we can even shoot my little cannon....Yes, I have a cannon, albiet a small 1/2 pounder.
The turkeys are growing VERY fast, but a couple of the dom pullets have taken to pushing the turkeys around. I'm surprised at this, because the jake does not take any nonsense from the cockerels at all.

I think I could talk my hubby into it just for the cannon alone! :) Sounds fun!

I have the same problem here at my place. My hubby had to switch to the hedge trimmer because the weed whacker wasn't working.

We just put the chicken tractor over the areas that need 'trimmed' down. We still have to do the edges where they can't reach, but in the middle they take care of it pretty quickly :cd

I have 25 meaties coming next week, Yay! I can't wait to have cute babies again!

On another note, I'm planning to go to the Wardle swap, would anyone want to buy some chicken saddles? I can whip some up really quickly, and just thought I'd check here to see if there was any interest.

My girls free range most days in the early evening time, and they show no interest in the weeds he's been working on. They do great in the grass though.

I will look at which Saturdays I have open in the next couple of months and let you all know.

Shooting targets that have "meaning" can be very therapudic.

  • 4 different 12 ga shotguns
  • a Savage 99 in .300 Savage
  • Rem 788 in .223
  • at least 1 .22 rifle
  • .22 LR and .22 mag revolver
  • .45 1911 pistol

I think that may be enough....

And we can talk about chickens and turkeys!
