Colored Easter chicks

Anyone know how they dye chicks? Is it an awful thing, or pretty harmless?

I don't know exactly but from what I have heard, they inject the egg with the dye and it does not harm the chick. A friend of mine got some and they looked WAY neat! Color grows out as feathers grow in.

Back in the days what they used was harmful and the practice of selling in petstores to anyone led to harm and death of a lot of poor chicks.

They inject the egg at around day 15 with die. Its not legal everywhere.

Ive heard that it is harmless. I was looking it up yesterday actually. My girlfriend is a teacher and she is going to try it in her classroom.
