Coloring quail eggs?

IMG_0269.jpeg

I made a cake the other day so blew out the eggs and soaked them in a navy dye with a few drops of green, all the same dye color! The celadon eggs came out cornflower blue and the regular ones are forest green, weird! I did use vinegar, hot water, and food coloring gel as described on the interwebs and let them dry on a cooling rack. Once they dry the color and spots are fine but both want to rub off while wet. I don’t recommend this with blown eggs though as water gets trapped inside and drips all over your counter and dried eggs but will be fun with hard boiled!
