There are Ivories, Slates and Silvers ?
How do you tell the difference in grown buttons ?

I have four 5 week-ish old "grey" buttons and 2 have some rose coloring. Hopefully I can get some photos to share but I'm finding grown buttons much harder to photograph than babies

Slates are a very dark silver/gray but not black. Silvers are a normal greyish color. Ivories though they contain many genes are actually an ivory color. Not really white but not cinnamon nor silver.

I think the dark one is a double blue male. Only the males have white on the breast (some have none, some have odd patterns- varies). I think he'll be a beautiful chocolate brown with black lacing. One of my very favorite colors. I have a few like that. If the baby has golden stripes it would be golden df blue or wild factor df blue. So many mixtures available! One reason I love these little quail.

If you are referring to a double factor blue face, sorry to say that you're wrong. If the bird is double factor for blue face, it should have white on its breast and/or face, regardless of what sex it is. Once it gets its adult plumage, these should fade, though don't always.
That's the same as silvers. Many people think that a bib=male. I had a double factor silver female that was bibbed, just like the males.

Yes, I meant when it gets it's adult plumage. I haven't had a bibbed female in over 70+ buttons so I guess I learned something new!

Citalk2much, I'd love to see a pix or two of different bibs on girls- can you post any? I think the majority of mine are red breasted with blue faced only about 10%- maybe that is why I haven't seen them. Any bibs on girls seen for the red breasted?
