Colour Reginitions

I have contacted the APA (American Poultry Association), who has informed me that Sumatra's are only recognized I the following colours: Black, Blue. They do not recognize "Splash" as a Sumatra colour even though Blue Sumatra's can produce "Splash" offspring. I would like to get this colour recognized. How would I go about getting "Splash" as a regonized colour for the Sumatra breed by the APA?
Any suggestions or ideas would be great.

This is only an issue for exhibition poultry. You need to contact the APA again because it is their rules/procedures that must be followed. Without getting into details, it takes several other breeders that are paid members of the APA to exhibit them for years and then a formal application that cost money to get a new variety accepted. You'll need the support of the American Sumatra Association too. They may be working on it already?
