I have a 13 week old CRC who is huge with a reddish comb, but no brown feathering which would indicate male. I have heard that their combs grow early and not to sex by comb growth. Can anyone tell me when do the males develop their brown feathers?

Right now I'm just waiting and watching to see if he/she crows or lays an egg.
If she turns out to be a roo, I have a friend waiting for him who needs a rooster since hers was taken by a hawk.

The Columbian rock cross in the picture above ended up being a pullet! Her comb is huge and flops (which makes me think she may have some leghorn in there). Got back from vacation and she was squatting!! We had a new egg laid yesterday, not sure who it's from by it's brown with some speckles. I'm thinking either the CRC, a welsummer or a golden cuckoo marans. I'm going to try and see if we can catch her in the act.
