Comb Already?

Well good thing we live in the country but geez, I don't want anymore babies

Leghorns aren’t known to go broody. Just collect them daily and they won’t start developing into babies. It’s good to have a rooster if you’re going to free range them and even better if you live in the country

We don't plan on free ranging, there are too many predators, just don't want him to be mean....also have 6 EE the same age

My White Leghorn is the sweetest rooster I have. Hopefully yours will be just as sweet. We did give him a lot of individual attention growing up, not sure if that had anything to do with it or not, but it wouldn’t hurt

We have a 3.5 week old Leghorn "pullet" who is growing a giant comb that I'm suspecting is a Roo too . I hope he turns out to be sweet, I was looking forward to the Leghorn egg productivity in my small flock . I'm crossing my fingers they both turn out to be stealthy pullets that just happen to have outsized combs

I hope he turns out to be sweet, I was looking forward to the Leghorn egg productivity in my small flock . That’s pretty red for a 3.5 week old
But if you’re allowed to keep roosters you can always incubate your hens’ eggs next spring and gamble getting some girls
But you’d have to be prepared to process the roosters, at least that’s what I do since there is no market for roosters, at least not at the price to get your money back.

I have White Leghorns but I didn’t pay attention to their development a year or two ago since I was still new to everything. But so far my Leghorn mixes if they have a large red comb it’s always a boy.

Im just saying leg horns can be hard to tell
