Comb bleeding or staining neck in the rain?

I think I have mine figured out... After looking at him again today, he has several scabby looking places on his comb and I think that when they get wet, the dried blood will kinda liquify again i guess and is running down on his neck feathers. Like I said, he is not the only roo I have and he is very active. That is the only thing I can figure out lol and hopefully that is all it is

On mine, Rhett, the whole back of his neck gets red - from under the base of the back of the comb to the base of his neck, and then pretty much from side to side (if I remember correctly). Is it the same with yours? I'm going to go look closely again and see if any of the red is still there. He did damage one small tip of his comb and it's dying off - but I've never noticed it bleeding. Just turned black and now it's white and black and getting ready to fall off. Happened once before and no blood then either. Maybe it is blood...I don't know. Hopefully, the camera will give me a closer look next time it rains. I'll see about posting a before pic too.

Oops!! He's not a Cornish Rock...another one was (geesh!)...he's a Golden Comet. Anyway, I just looked them up to see if perhaps they had a reddish tinge - since he still does when dry. Guess what? The cockerels do! Here I go feeling like an idiot for looking for a quick answer from somebody instead of doing some simple research on my own first. So it's just showing the red more when he's wet.

As soon as I figure out how to post a photo on here I'll put one up.

Not sure they mean that color of red though now that I think of it...we'll see if it stays or goes.

Thanks SilkieChicken! Still haven't had any rain, but will still post a photo of him wet when we do.
