comb developement and egg laying maturity

Not sure if this is the place to discuss this, but I'm wondering about comb development and egg laying maturity. I have three Buff Orps, two Barred Rocks, Two EEs and a Production Red. They are about 14 + weeks old? Wondering what to expect along these lines re: comb development. How much comb development should I expect prior to egg laying maturity?

My 2 sex links just started laying at 18 weeks. Their combs & wattles are larger & redder than the rest. They also started squatting when I would raise my hand over their backs. I have an EE with a red comb & she is also squatting, so I think she'll be next. So, along with a red comb, watch for that squatting motion. They also started vocalizing differently.

My bird's combs are starting to turn red to varying degrees, but have not grown much in size in the last few weeks. Should I expect a large increase in comb size before they are ready to start laying, or does that develop at a later stage of adulthood?
