Comb-headed Barred Rock Hen

Have you seen anything like this? This hen almost looks like she has a swimmers cap on. Her comb covers her head.

Also shes not a Barred Rock. Might be a Barred Rock cross.

No, absolutely no feather plucking. This is how she's always looked.

This is a medical condition known as "funky chicken" syndrom.

How long have you had her? Could be going into a molt.

I am saying that she isn't a Barred Rock do to the White beak and legs ( not a American Dominique either). I would say she is a cross.

Rooster damage.

Bought five from a woman. Three pullets and two hens. Could not see/did not notice....go figure. Anyway, I worried over it, posted it and guess what.....the feathers grew back.

I named her Lucy because she was 'red headed'....the other hen was Ethel.

She's been this way 9 months (since I got her). No rooster to damage her! No feathers falling out... no plucking... It's so strange!

kind of looks like ringworm, but i don't know if chickens get it?? but if it's been the same and not getting worse for several months it wouldnt be that. don't know
