I introduced two new hens yesterday, thereby doubling the size of my flock.
One of the new hens (Jane, the black star, is the suspect) bit off part of the comb of Ethyl, the white Rock. There was blood, but it stopped bleeding hours ago.
Do I need to put anything on Ethyl's comb? Or just let it go?
Honestly, I am not the kind to put meds on my children's injuries unless they are particularly nasty or had contact with something nasty, but this is my first 'chicken injury' and I'm not sure how fragile the chicken immune system is.
Thanks!
