One of our girls somehow tore off most of the front part of her comb:
I checked the forums here and we did what they said: clipped off the hanging down part, and I put some hydrogen peroxide on it. She's acting ok, jumped back up in the bush with her friend who was clucking for her. Its still bleeding pretty good though. (that red bit on the end of her beak is blood) Just looking for reassurance, I guess. That we did the right thing and she'll be ok. Feeling sick over the whole thing and a little bit fainty too. Ugh. Chicken ranching is not for the fainthearted!
Anything else we should do?
Thanks!
(not the greatest pic cuz its getting dark out, and I had to photoshop the exposure a bit so you can see anything and man is it a long process to upload photos from an iphone. anyone got any tricks for that???)
