Comb issues (pic heavy)

This is my OEGB roo - Little man - He free ranges and there are a couple of other roos. We also had a very cold couple of nights. Is it from fighting or frostbite? Any ideas? He seems very active and healty otherwise. None of my other chickens have this.

wow, i dont know, how cold is it? did u try to see if it was blood by gently washing it off w/ somthing white so you can see what it shows up as?

looks like frostbite.

It does flake off - you can see on the underside of his beak where part of it is now missing.

It got down to the low teens for a couple of days. He goes in at night and usually snuggles up between two fat hens.

That is fight damage, frostbite starts at the tips of the points.

To me, it looks like he got in one humdinger of a fight. Usually, frostbite gets the tips first, so IMO, it's not frostbite. This was Suede after a fight with Hawkeye:

He comes into contact with a WBT Jap and a Bantam Cochin roo. They seem to be fine, He also could possible fight thru a pen to a large EE roo. But usually he takes his girls in a diff direction than the others.

He also came close to losing that right eye too.

I guess for now I will seperate him and his girls from everybody else.
