I have 2 flocks with an age difference of 4 weeks so I kept them separate until recently. The 4 older chicks are in the coop and I introduced the 5 younger just during the day for a week. They are like two separate gangs. The last 3 nights I put them all together inside the coop. Will they ever become one flock? A couple of the older chicks want to pick on the younger ones.
Would locking them inside for a few days help?

They will eventually come together. Just give it a little time. I have 2 little flocks of chicks I combined too and they all get along just fine but prefer to hang in their own little groups.

I'm also very interested to know how to do this. I've the very same issue with 5 older birds (8 weeks old) already in the coop and 2 younger (4 weeks old) still in the kitchen brooder.
