Combining chicks from 2 different places

I have already placed an order for BR day old chicks (via online) and they will be here in April. After doing some more research I thought it would be cool to get an EE ( for the blue eggs). I only want 1 EE chick, so I'm going to the feed store to see if they have any. They don't get any chicks in till March or April so they will be close in age (would be great if I could get them only days apart). My question is how long do I need to keep them separate (for health reasons)? How do you introduce them to each other?

I put mine together as soon as they get home. They don't even notice at that age.

I got 8 chicks last weekend from the feed store, and I added another one from somewhere else yesterday. Acted like they all belonged together from day one.

Call or email the place that you ordered from and see if you can add an EE chick to your order

I wrote the hatchery tonight and asked if I could. As for adding others in I was wondering because I know you are supposed to quarantine all new comers so that you don't introduce a disease or illness to the whole flock. Wasn't sure about day old chicks though.

Chicks don't count. They haven't lived long enough to be carriers of anything, like older chickens. You'll be fine.
