Combining Flocks, but Both are Young?

I am new to raising chickens as well. I first ordered Barred Rocks which will be here May 22nd. I fell in love with Silkies so I ordered some which will be here at the end of the month. I did that thinking they would be okay to integrate considering the size difference. Did I make the right move? Lol
Depends on your brooder set up. Can you divide the brooder so the youngest have a couple of days or so to get on their feet by themselves? Once they can run well they should be alright. The age difference isn't that great to cause integration problems. After four weeks the size and development difference can cause problems.

Yes! I actually have two different brooders I will be able to set up for them! So after a couple of days, they'll be good to be together?

Yes, once the newly hatched gets steady on their feet, putting them together will work. I did a two week age difference two years ago. With enough space for them to get away from the heat and run around they'll be fine.

Okay, awesome! Thank you so much!

Thanks for the responses, everyone! I feel better about it, now. Hopefully we should hear about the chicks pretty soon! I don't know exactly the age difference but it should be under 2 months for sure. These are 2 weeks, now, and I want to say the new ones should hatch in the next week or 2 if I understood her correctly.

I think since it will be pretty warm out consistently in the next couple of weeks, I'll just move the older chicks into the coop when we get the new babies. They'll be a little young at maybe 4-5 weeks, but we'll put a heat lamp out there, and it will basically be SUMMER here (got a sunburn today working on the coop!).
