Combining "flocks"

I have 6 half-grown chicks and one hen in my new coop. I'd like to bring in some of my other hens, one at a time, to see if I can figure out who's laying and who's not. Presently I have 10 hens and I'm lucky if I get 5 eggs a day.

Right now I have no roosts. Will that be a problem? I do plan to add some soon.

I'd put the roost in first so they won't sleep in the nests.

Adding one at a time is likely to cause the one to get seriously pecked, and the stress of the change is likely to stop her from laying for a while.
