So, out of the 5 chicks I got, 4 ended being roos. I’ve found someone who’s happy to take 3 of my cockerels in exchange for 3 pullets, but now I’m wondering how to combine the two groups. They’re going to be 9 weeks, and while they’re still inside I’m thinking of just putting them out together. Thoughts on what I should do?

Quarantine the new birds completely separated, with no chance of wind blowing dander for at least a month.
Then, seperate them with a fence for about a week or two so they get used each other

The above is good advice, but often times it is hard to quarantine in a truly backyard set up. Do these people go to bird auctions or show birds? If not, at 9 weeks I think you would be pretty safe. Not 100% safe, but pretty safe.

I would put them all outside together in a strange place all at the same time. Discombulate them all. I would also have a lot of clutter in the run. Roosts, saw horses, ladders, mini walls, pallets up off the ground 2-3 feet so birds can get under or on top. Multiple feed bowls and water.

I would expect this to go pretty well.
