Combining young flocks

Hi! We have 2 three week old chicks and 14 two week olds. We’re getting 6 or so more tomorrow. Is it better to start them in their own area and then combine later, or is it safe to put the newbies in with the 2-3 week olds?

How old are the new ones? If they're newborn or 2-3 day-ish, I would keep them separate for a few days to let them get steady on their feet, and gain a bit of size and strength, before introducing them to the others under supervision.
