Combs and Laying

My girls' combs got larger and turned redder, and when I would scratch their back or even get near them, they started doing that waddle and squat thing...I think they are telling me I'm their rooster...lol

This is about the time that the eggs start showing up, for me. I also bought white wooden eggs from AC Moore for a dollar or so apiece and put in the nesting box a while back...they poked around at them, and then when they started laying, they knew exactly where to put the eggs, and they have ever since.
 
I agree....

I'm hoping for eggs soon but im sure alot depends on the breed. Some breads have a very small comb anyway.
