I have 16 Roadisland Reds hens about 7 months old, some of them have black spots on their combs. What should I do for them, if anything?

Could be pecking injuries.

If they look wartlike then it could be fowl (avian) pox. If they are just black spots then probably pecking injuries. I don't treat those.

Frostbite is also black but wrong time of year.

The spots do look like black warts. What should I do to treat them?

Thanks for the help. Looks like there is no treatment for the avian pox. and from the photos it looks like what my hens have.

Does anyone know what the prognosis is for the hens? My egg production is half of what is was.
