Combs

Do cornish chickens have single combs or pea combs.
I have five young chickens that have single combs,
I think they are Leghorns but some people say they are meat birds.

They will have single combs. In about 1 week you will be able to tell the difference between leghorns and cornish.. if you really know what you are looking at, it only takes a few days to figure out. The cornish will pig out ALL the time while the leghorns will be light on their feet. Also, you can look at the girth of their legs. Leghorns will have have skinny feet and be flighty, cornish will have fat legs and be very calm. Post a picture of them. Also, leghorns, if roos will show comb development at like 3 weeks enough to be able to sex them.

Top one is definantly female... bottom one may be a male. They dont look like leghorns or conrish to me. How many weeks old are they? I want to guess about 4 weeks? Cornish will be about 2-3 lbs by then and leghorns will be about oh, less than half a lb? Cornish crosses will also have a starting of bare spots on their chests due to sitting all the time and eating/ pigging out in the feeders. They also lay the hugest pile of poo when compared to leghorns.

I want to say you have meat birds there that are a bit slow growing or maybe white rocks.. but even those will be kind of small.

it could be a cornish cross for a ture cornish has a pea comb
