Hello!
I currently have three broodies, a white rock named Rose, a black Australorp named Phyllis, and then a light brahma named Dottie.
I just discovered that Dottie was broody the other day because she started making these screeching noises at the other chickens outside of the nesting box. I noticed that she was very dedicated to her one egg, so I gave her more so that her sitting in the heat in the stuffy nesting box would be worth it once they hatch
She is the only hen out of the three who is new to this. Phyllis and Rose co-brooded and co-parented last year and not one of them ever gave up and made the other one do it herself.
However, they can't co-parent now because they are sitting on eggs in separate coops.
I hope that Rose's eggs hatch because she kept switching nesting boxes yesterday and left her original clutch of eggs that were alive for who knows how long. They were not warm to the touch so I hope they survived
Next week there is a heat wave coming to my area. Not extreme temps like other states have been getting, but it's going to be around 96 degrees fahrenheit
So I really hope that my girls stick to it and keep sitting on those eggs!
Cheer the girls on here!

I will give you updates, I honestly have NO IDEA when the hatch date is.
