Come If You Have A Radio Controlled High Performance Car (Or Any RC!)

There is a nice RC car track in Novelty MO not too far from us. Our problem is that we need RC dune buggies to drive around our property. No concrete to be found except our shop floor. BIG dune buggies or make a hard packed dirt track to drive on.

We haven't ventured to the Novelty track. Our cars are entry level and these guys are into it with some serious vehicles.
Some tracks require stock trucks only to keep the race fair. You can do fancy paint jobs or whatnot, but the truck itself must be stock. Perhaps they have stock races there? If it's the trucks, you might get lucky and get a two-wheel-drive Traxxas Slash that is out-of-the-box ready and can go. Then all you have to worry about is fixing it if gets damaged during the race. On the track that I know of, you can even rent a truck for the race.

I do know that every track is different, so it really helps to know which one provides which. If it's a very popular track though, they may have different options if you're interested. ;)

here is my rc kit journey so far.

Day one was full of frustration because I had never done this before. Buuuuuut. Day two was a breeze. I am just waiting for some other stuff to come in for this including the battery. I also ordered better steering arms and those haven’t come in yet. I still have to do the polycarbonate shell. Uggggh.
But over all. I can’t wait to try it out!

You have to build it from scratch? How cool is that! Hey, a little tip, if there's a metal version of the servo system/steering system for this car, you'll want that over any plastic one. (Unless, of course, you're putting this on a track, as that could be against the track's rules depending.) The servo's gears tend to strip out, so the metal gears are the only way to go. I had that issue with my Slash, and ever since I put in metal gear, I never had an issue with the steering again.

That thing is going to be beautiful in the end, by the way!

This is what looked like when it was on the WRC scene in 1999 (World Rally Championship)
This if I remember correctly this was Rallye Greece
That's cool. I'm familiar with the design of the car, but didn't know the history of it. There's a Hot Wheels Subaru that I'm looking to get that has a similar color scheme to it.
