Come on every buddy what is the number of your flock anyone anyone at all

I have 23 chickens - 20 hens, 3 roos. They are a mixed backyard lot, nothing fancy. When they are in full production, we get about a dozen eggs a day - enough for us and some extras to sell. I am about maxed out. I do not want them to be crowded in their coop or run.

We have 26 hens and 1 rooster. They are mixed breeds, and all pretty good layers. We avg about 2 dozen eggs a day, so have lots to sell (12 regular customers a week) and plenty for us.

Thats cool you guys keep up the good work its so cool seeing how many birds you all have but i still cant decide between a small flock (15 and under) ir a big flock (18 and up) or if i want a rooster or not

if it were only my husband and i eating our weekend breakfast and an occasional sunday roaster we could get by with 6 ladies, a few straight run and pullet replacements each spring. we sell eggs to regular customers and only have two egg meals ourselves. we have 2 duck hens, 54 layers some are old dependable girls, 2 breeding roosters, 4 little boys and 2 big boys in grow out pens. our favorite layers are buff orpington, easter egger, ameracauna.

Around here, I do not count my chickens. It's called plausible deniability . That way I can always say, gee I didn't know I had that many chickens. Besides the number varies daily due to hatching....

Ditto. I don't hatch DAILY but the number does change pretty regularly. About 50-ish. <* hand to indicate "give or take"*>

Plus 9 ducks and a pair of Toulouse geese.

I only (OONNLLYY) have 5 pullets.

Because my dh can see the run and coop from his desk. I would have more if I could and I do have the space.... Suppose he would believe any "others" I got were strays?

No roo, though because I just don't want/need one.
