Maybe this is a good place to report on how the heavy duty nylon netting did in our 22" of snow. We have had it snow some 6-8" without any problems. The snow didn't accumulate at all, went right through the holes.
Our next big snow was the 22" or so. Didn't even think that it might be a problem, but when I went to check on them the next morning, the netting was filled all over with some 10-15" of heavy snow on top of it. It was still holding except for a couple spots where the zipties gave out. So I went around and banged the snow shovel up from the bottom to let it fall through, which it did pretty easily. The snow came down over night giving us really heavy, heavy amounts. This is why I think it piled up on top of the netting.
The next snow we had, 28", didn't leave anything on top at all. So overall, I am so pleased with the protection the netting gives with such a small cost.
My sister lives in Alaska and said their high amounts in a year usually only get up to near 36" total!!
Hope this helps.
