It depends on the breed, and individual bird. Don't worry I'm in the same boat. I have a bunch of girls who are eight months old and still not laying.

Hmm, that is rather odd. Some reasons why they may not be laying is not enough daylight, poor food quality, stress, or their certain breed just might take longer to develop and reach the age of laying! If I may, what type of breeds do you keep? Do you keep them in the coop, a run, free-range? What kind of food? There's also a possibility they could be laying somewhere else...

A while ago I thought mine had all stopped laying. After a couple of weeks of eggyness towards the non laying chickens I went for a look at them under a tree and guess what....I found about 24 eggs there. Maybe chickens do have brains
