Coming of age....

We have an established flock of eleven hens and a rooster. We have twenty seven soon to be six week old's in the brooder that we want to add to the flock next weekend. Any suggestions, tips, advice on minimizing stress on all concerned?

The younger chickens you can fence in next to your older chickens for a few days so they get used to seeing them, and then try putting them together. Also you can add some outdoor roosts and escape places for the smaller/younger hens.

Thanks, We were planning to do do that. We thought we would put them in a couple of cages in the hen house and let them acclimate to each other. I hope we are successful.
