Last August I purchased six Golden Laced Wyandottes from My Pet Chicken. They arrived at my small town Post Office, much to the amazement of the Post Mistress, in good condition. Into the brooder constructed and operated using info from the BYC forums.
The began laying on schedule this Spring. Acquired a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte rooster this Summer. He is a prince. Takes such good care of his girls. Saw him twice chase off local cats.
One of the hens must have gotten a whiff of easter egger genes. She has grayish greenish legs and lays lovely green/blue eggs. She is very reliable=one per day, every day.
This breed is supposed to be a fairly large breed and is supposed to lay large eggs. At best they are medium size birds and lay medium size eggs. Wonder why that is.
They are delightful creatures and I sure they have lowered my blood pressure.
