Common to steal chickens?

Breathing a big sigh of relief here, now that you've called. When you stated that you were going to carry your phone in your pocket all day, I couldn't help but think, "But what if she gets grabbed from behind?" You'd never stand a chance to use the phone or a gun. Having been in the military, I'm assuming that you are trained in self-defense. That does ease my mind some. Let us know if you find out anything else. I think alot of us are wondering.

I would have yelled a good piece of advice to him-these woods ARE used for hunting, and it would be a shame if someone accidentally shot you while aiming for game, so you better clear out and not come back just to be safe. Then I would have made sure he saw me with my gun.

Call the cops to make a report just in case.

If the woods are for hunting, they may have been scouting and wanted to take a peek at the birds, however, safety first and if you see them again talk to them. Lock up the birds and belongings first. I have caught people stealing vegetables from the garden and eggs from the coop. My birds range in the day and can't be caught so none have been stolen yet.

Maybe, just MAYBE, he is a perspective buyer of the empty house. He was looking at your chickens while talking to his wife about the crazy chicken people who would be next door. He see's that he is spotted and panicked, and headed for the woods so he wouldn't make a bad first impression on his new neighbors. Today you see him enter the house to look it over again......

I'm reaching here, I know.

You can never be too safe. Call the police anytime you see suspicious behavior, always have personal protection. Right now I am in my bedroom at my desk and am within arms reach of a loaded pistol.

And maybe just maybe....

Suspect Was Watching Missing Ohio Family
November 16, 2010 - 2:23 PM | by: Rick Leventhal
The Knox County Sheriff says the prime suspect in the disappearance of 32 year-old Tina Herrman, her 11 year-old son and a family friend made himself known to the family and may have been watching them.

This is a crazy world in which we live and is only getting crazier literally!

Now I'm curious, LOL, did the police ever get back to you regarding the 'suspicious character' ? Hopefully, it turned out to be nothing and you can easily apologise if necessary, and have your mind at ease. If he was actually looking at that place to buy, I would think he would be happy to know that he will have neighbors that pay attention to things going on in the area. If he was actually a suspicious character then it's good that he and maybe his friends know that there are people who pay attention. Whatever the case, it's good to know that you are keeping yourselves safe.

I doubt that an apology is necessary after all he was in an area that was suspicious and he didn't offer an introduction. He's the one that should apologize in my opinion.
