I have a community nest in the corner of the coop. Two Muscovey ducks built and filled it with eggs. A third Muscovey duck joined them. There are about 20 duck eggs in it. Last week a Red Comet hen joined them. I tried to move her to a broody hutch that I have, but she refused to sit on the eggs there. Two days later I let her out and she went back to sit with her duck friends. It's pretty funny, because they take turns on and off the nest. It is never empty.

Question is...what will happen at the hatch? Will these ducklings have four moms and will the ducks and hen share the chicks peacefully?

Thanks for any input. Sounds like a movie I know, "Three Ducks and a Hen".

I had 12 pullets that were still in the brooder house when they started laying because I hadn't had their permanent home ready.
It wasn't long before 10 went broody in a community nest and another was off and on. The incubation didn't go well, likely because they were stealing eggs and not getting them all covered. Only 1 chick hatched and they all wanted to mother it. There were no problems there but the chick was probably a bit psychotic being called this way and that constantly.
