Every chicken raiser’s story is unique. Tell us why you started raising chickens in this thread.

My mother had some hybrids for a few years before I got my chickens.
I started to have an interest in chickens and then in January 2016, me and my mother went up to Canterbury in Kent to get some purebred chickens.
She got some Light Sussex and I got five wonderful Rhode Island Reds. Since then I've hatched lots of chicks, including three hens that I've added to my flock.
I love my RIR and later this year I'm going to get some Silver-laced Wyandottes.
