Companion for disabled Barred Rock

I just adopted a Barred Rock who was recovering from a fractured leg due to a horse kick. She had surgery and pins have been removed. She is able to use the injured leg like a crutch but the tows curl under so she limps. She is able to get around. I want to get her a companion but am unsure which breed would be best. She is very calm, quiet and affectionate. I would love to get another Barred Rock but can't seem to find a breeder in CA. The person who owned the injured chicken has an Aracauna she was willing to give me who was part of my chicken's flock but the bird seems hyper and flighty. Wondering if anyone has any breed recommendations for a quiet, docile breed that would be a good companion for my disabled chicken. Thanks

Maybe you could find another disabled chicken like her someone doesn't want.

That was my thought too.

Chickens can be quite brutal to birds they think are unfit -- because an unfit bird could attract predators to the flock -- so another disabled bird might be a good choice.
