Hi Everyone! I can't believe it has been 11 days since I started this whole drama! Well, I have learned some interesting chicken behavior! I have tried all of your suggestions. When I let all the chickens in the yard at different times so as not to crowd each other...when they do meet up , the two hens, they get right into a full on chicken fight!! I was about to jump in and break them up when Casper, my rooster, jumped into the middle of it and broke the girls up.... If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes I wouldn't have believed it!!! Those hens kept Casper busy all the while they were in the yard together...none of us get much rest until I separate everyone and put them to bed...

Now, I have a new problem...a weasel got into the old hen house where Casper was sleeping. Casper is fine but now I have closed up the old hen house and he is sleeping with the girls in the barn. A friend gave me a Havaheart cage to trap the weasel but no instructions on how to use it and I haven't found anything on line that has been much help. Plus I really hurt my knee when I was horseback riding so I have been on ice for two days. But the knee is better and I am ready to tackle the fighting hens and weasel situation!!! Whew!!! It just feels better getting that all off my chest!!!
