Complaining or egg-song?

I have an EE and shes getting to be about that age. Shes exactly 6 months old two days ago.
She makes a sound that I think may be egg song but it also sounds like shes complaining about how shes cold or something like that. mIve seen her and my roo mating once and her comb isnt that red. What do you think?

Sounds like an eggsong! Is she doing an egg squat when you try to pick her up or anything? Those are tell-all signs of getting ready to lay.

Don't mean to hijack your thread but...is it common for hens to complain before laying? Mine does, and it sounds like she's in pain before laying.

They make this sound in these situations: When they just lay.Sometimes before lay.Sometimes when one see another hen laying, sometimes the roo sings. And sometimes they all make this sound when they are scared of something odd. (dog, or other animal they don"t know)

I have a couple hens that do the Eggsong. The rest just lay....
